Goodbye Mr. Swayze

I was so devasted when I heard this news. I can't believe it. I mean, I was expecting it to happen soon; he has had pancreatic cancer for the past 20 months. He's put up such an amazing fight! He's a hero in my books. I loved his singing and his dancing and his acting. Many of you, or maybe none of you, will remember this post of mine from a few months back. It expresses the love that I have for him.

Dirty Dancing will always and forever be my favorite movie. I've decided to have a Dirty Dancing night in honor of Mr. Swayze. :) Anyone is invited who wants to come. Time and Place TBA.

I sat next to him!

I was searching for a seat. I walked down the aisle. I spotted one on the end, just what I wanted. Oh wait, backpack in the seat. I walk back up the aisle. And I spotted him. And an empty seat next to him. I debated sitting there. Did I really want to sit next to him on a test day? And I wanted an aisle seat for the test, I would have to sit in between two people. But... I did it. And it was totally worth it! I was very excited!!!

I love her! I can't remember a time when I haven't loved her. I don't even know how I came to love her. I think I was born that way. I think it might even go back farther than that. She's so wonderful. She's been around forever. She's got the best voice I've ever heard. She's a cow girl. I want to be her sometimes, more often than not. She has made 32 albums. She's been in 12 movies. She's been in two Broadway shows-Annie Get Your Gun and South Pacific. She is now the most nominated female artist in CMA History. She has written two books. She has had her own TV show. I can listen to her when I'm happy, sad, frustrated, crying, upset, ecstatic, exited, anxious, nervous, worried, and I always feel satisfied. I love dancing and singing to her music in my room, by myself, in front of my mirror! I love watching her show and laughing at her humor. Her concerts are AMAZING!! I have seen her live 4 times! Once on accident! :) Oh, and she does a movie with Patrick Swayze! Why have I lived almost 20 years and never seen this movie? I will be watching it ASAP! I think I will name one of my daughters REBA, or at least a middle name! :)

I've recently watched Dirty Dancing for the first time in a very long time. And I forgot how much I absolutely love this movie!! The music has sentimental meaning. My dad and I would sing to the soundtrack together. But my newly resurrected love for this movie got me thinking about how much I love Patrick Swayze. What a man! And then I was thinking about other movies I love that he is in. Ghost, also a wonderful movie, he makes a stellar performance in! Still though, it is Dirty Dancing that tugs at my heartstrings. How I wish I could be Jennifer Gray for a day!

My love, My life, Utah football and Louie Sakoda

Last night, Utah played Oregon State. Oregon State had just beaten the number one team in the nation, USC, the week before. And this was a HUGE game for Utah. My mom, Lee, Sara, and I all drove up to Salt Lake to go to the game! The first half was pretty good for the Utes. The defense was awesome! We went into half time leading 20-15. The second half was not so great. We didn't score the whole second half until the last two minutes...The score was 28-20 for Oregon State with two minutes left. Brian Johnson gets us down the field and we get the touchdown! We go for the extra point and don't get it. BUT a PI was called. And BJ ran it for the extra point. I was going NUTS!! I was screaming and jumping! It was insane. So, Oregon State has the ball with 1:30 left in the game. Tied at 28. The defense holds them and they have to punt. Utah gets the ball on the 45. Before the offense even gets on the field the crowd starts chanting "Louie, Louie, Louie". BJ and the offense come out and get us to the 24! The crowds goes crazy with "Louie, Louie, Louie". Kyle let the time run down to 2 seconds. Louie comes up, kicks the field goal, and it's GOOD!! We all rush the field! It was out of control. Everyone was going crazy! I thought I might die. And it smelled like beer. Ha. Down by 8 with 2 minutes and we win by 3!! The best game ever!

I've always loved Louie! He's my favorite player on the team! And guess what?? I got a picture with him. Yes, with Louie Sakoda!

For the fourth this year, I worked from 7 to 3, I love work, and then we had a BBQ at my house and then Heather, two of her friends, Kristen, Nichelle, Jeff, Brian, Michelle and I all went to the Stadium of Fire! It was SO fun!
