bananas, kristen, and glucose

Bananas. I've always liked them. I think. They have to be perfect. Not too green. Then they are all starchy. Not too yellow. Then they make me gag. And lately banana has taken on a new meaning.

Kristen. I like her. No, I love her. I've known her my whole life. She's my cousin. And has been my roommate for over a year now. She's the best. She's 19. 3 1/2 weeks older me. A huge BYU football fan. Well BYU sports in general. She has brown hair. She has a some odd talent to make me laugh just by looking at me. We have many things in common. And many things not. She gives great prayers!

Glucose. CHO 6 12 6! I've learned a lot about glucose lately and in the past year. It gives us energy. Glycolysis is a 10 step process, where glucose is changed to pyruvate. And pyruvate goes through the citric acid cycle. It gives us ATP! ATP makes us run, walk, etc. I'm learning all about this in chemistry right now. If you would like to know more about glucose I would be more than willing to tell you more. Glucose is pretty cool!

let it go

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don't mind
if it's me you need to turn to
we?ll get by,
it's the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret
will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain

What do I do?

I think I know what classes I'm going to take next semester, but I can't decide when to take them. Do I do morning classes? And work in the afternoon? Do I take afternoon classes? And work in the morning? Or do I take all my classes on Tuesday and Thursday and not have any on Monday, Wednesday or Friday? But that would make long days on Tuesday and Thursday. But it would be awesome to have no school three days a week. As you can see I have a dilemma. What do I do?

I VOTED

I love voting! It was my second year voting, but my first presidential election! Oh, it was so fun. I got to vote for the next president of the United States of America! That is so awesome. I'm so grateful for the freedoms I enjoy in this country. I am so blessed! And I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I had to vote. How blessed we all are to live in America!

Halloween 2008

Halloween this year was so much fun! We had the whole Flinstone gang. Fred, Wilma, Pebbles, Dino, Barney, Betty, and Bam Bam. People were singing the themesong to us all night and asking to take our picture! It was really fun! Happy Halloween!

The Widow's Mite

I am so blessed. And I have so much. I have a family that loves me. I have my knowledge and the opportunity to increase that knowledge at a great university. I have wonderful roommates who are always taking care of me. I have a healthy body. I have ten fingers and ten toes. I can see. I can hear. I can speak. I can read. I have running water and electricity. I have parents who always bail me out. I have friends, here and far away, who are great examples to me. I have the word of God at my fingertips. I have the knowledge of the restored gospel!

The Widow's Mite is such an amazing story to me. She gave all she had. Everything. I don't think we realize the magnitude of this. She gave more because she gave all. And in return she will receive much more.

How often do I give back? How often do I give 50%? How often do I give 100%? How often do I give all that I have to those less fortunate? Not necessarily of my possessions, but just of my time or patience or love or knowledge. I have so much to offer and so much to give. I have been given so much. I have been so blessed. It shouldn't be that hard to give of what we have, should it? And we don't have to give it up, just use it. Share it. Why is it so hard then? Why are we selfish? Why are we prideful?

"We are only the custodians of what He has given us."
