I've decided that I have the worst luck pretty much ever. Here, let me explain....
Kristen, Nichelle and I took a road trip to Vegas last weekend. It was SO fun, well except for the drive down. We decided to take my new car. We were having a grand ole time until we reached Fillmore. I look in my rear view mirror and see a cop with his lights on. I immediately look at my dashboard...I was going 10 under (It was raining and rather windy, I was being safe). I thought to myself, could he be pulling me over? I pull over to the side of the road and the cop walks up to the passenger side window and begins to ask me a series of questions. He asks for my license and registration. I hand them over to him. I might add that I was fuming. I was so angry. He comes back a few minutes later with a ticket for $107.00!!! I was extremely angry. Failure to slow down or move over for emergency vehicle....
About 20 miles previous I passed a cop on the side of the road with someone else pulled over. I did not change lanes. He chased me down, 20 miles down the road, to give me a ticket for a new law. I was not speeding. I did not have drugs. I was not drinking. But still the cop gives me a ticket. But wait the story gets better....
We had just gotten off the freeway, Nichelle was driving by this point. We were driving to Nichelle's Aunt's house, where we would be staying. I notice my car is making a horrible sound. It was still running fine, minus the noise, but my heart sank. We made it to her aunt's house all in one piece, including my car. And let me add that I had just gotten this car about three weeks prior. I immediately call my father so he can listen and ask him what to do. He tells me to turn off the car right away. He said it sounded pretty bad. And he wasn't sure what we were going to do. At this point, I was trying to stay calm. He told me to wait an hour, try starting it, and call him back. An hour passes, during which I'm very anxious. I go to start my car. It starts, but the awful noise is still there. I call my dad. He tells me that we can't drive it and that he will have to come get us. I lost it and started crying. First the ticket and now my new car. Luckily Nichelle's Aunt was nice enough to let us borrow her car. My parents borrowed a truck from my uncle, rented a car hauler, and came to pick us up at the end of our trip. We still aren't exactly sure what is wrong with my car. It's in the shop trying to get fixed.
This is why I've decided that I have the worst luck.
Pulled over-7 times. Towed-twice. Accidents-one. Broken down-twice. I can only imagine what comes next.
sad sad day cooney. :( I feel for you. you do have rotten luck, I'm sorry. Now, if you had gotten pulled over for reckless driving on canyon, I may not feel sorry for you. But this is pretty lame. will you post a pic of your new car when it's fixed??
ReplyDeletealthough, how many tickets have you gotten? probably not seven. So that's pretty lucky that when you get pulled over you usually get out of a ticket...??
ReplyDeleteMan, that cop must have been pretty ticked that you didn't change lanes. Cops are always ticked at nice people, I guess that's why I feel anger towards them. I'm really sorry about your car, too, I wonder what's wrong with it. And I wonder when karma will catch up with me, since it's over- caught up with you. Sorry rotten things keep happening...
ReplyDeleteCourtney! I was so happy that you commented. I am just getting into the blogging thing, still trying to figure it out. It's fun! I had a blast reading this post on yours. That is terrible luck on your trip! I must say though, you told the story very well. It had me captivated! I'm so sorry about the ticket and your car though. What a lame new law! Your blog is way fun to read even though your story was very heartbreaking. I am just happy to hear from you!
